Toppenish is a funny word.

I went to Oregon and Washington over Memorial Day weekend. It was cold and similar to Utah weather: wet and miserable. We visited Crater Lake which was absolutely beautiful, even though there was more snow than I had seen all winter, stopped at my grandma's house in Toppenish, Washington, and then drove the rest of the way home with Gar. It's so nice to have him home.
Those sticks in the ground on the side of the road help the snow removal peeps find the road after it snows.

Left side of Crater Lake...

... right side of Crater Lake. So beautiful. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the continental U.S. and is five miles across!

This was taken on May 29th. There was SO MUCH snow, and it was still snowing when we arrived. I got a lot of strange looks as I had no winter coat and flats on-- like I knew to bring my parka in May!

Toppenish is known more for its fruit canneries. But this is a field of nothing. And I happen to think is pretty.

It's been a stressful (to say the least) last few months. For the first time in my life, I was in a different place every weekend for five weeks straight. While I enjoyed getting away, I also miss having lazy weekends. And even though life may not be perfect during the week, I can still say that I enjoy the beautiful things this world has to offer --like these weekend adventures from February. Nothing like a Sunday afternoon to explore some of Utah's greatest.
I give you rural mines, never-ending pits, and floating airplanes. Enjoy... you know you wish you were there.

Snowball off the beaten track. Literally.

Pretty.

We climbed all over and let our feet hang over the edge. Do not try this at home!

I had to run to get in the picture, after a few attempts, we finally got one.

Mine ruins and graffiti, the best combo.

Notice C.K. in the corner.

Is it a plane? Is it a boat? Nope. It's a duck!

Saw plenty of this...

And a lot of this...loved every inch of it. Notice the cute, small lighthouse.
